Blue Flea at Wanted Design for New York Textile Month by Susan Allbert

This month is New York Textile Month and I am excited to be part of BLUE FLEA, a Japanese Indigo & textile pop-up shop and workshop, organized for WANTED DESIGN by Curious Corners.

I will be showing "Future Fossils," a series of indigo t-shirts produced in collaboration with BUAISOU Brooklyn using traditional Japanese dying and printing techniques. The series of 8 designs will be available for purchase and order though out the show.

I'm thrilled to be showing alongside BUAISOU,  KOFUSashi.CoErinWilson, and Rosa Chang all of whom will have have work for sale.

BLUE FLEA Saturday 24th and Sunday 25th September  11am - 7pm THE DESIGN MARKET South Street Seaport 19 Fulton Street NY 10038

False Dichotomy June 24th-26th by Susan Allbert

I am very excited to be part of this show curated by the wonderful Libby Clarke. I'll be showing a new series of prints, this time on t-shirts and all part of a collaboration with the amazing Japanese master indigo dyers Buaisou Brooklyn. We've been experimenting with laser cutting and Katagami, mixing traditional methods of dyeing and printing with new technologies

The exhibition centers on fine art printmaking that intersects with, depends upon, and even conquers high technology. Invited artists use data, sensors, alternate processes, wearables, performance, and other technologies to produce multiples, texts, and other sorts of editions.
